Gokul’s mess business was running at a loss and he was on the verge of closing it down. A meeting with the deAsra team, coupled with sound advice and timely help with registrations, turned his business into a successful, legally run mess business.
Since Gokul was working full time in another company, he appointed a manager to look after and run his Mess business. Right from its inception, the business ran at a loss, forcing Gokul to consider closing it down. When he shared this thought with his manager, his suspicions were aroused when the manager offered to buy the business from him. He scrutinized the books of accounts, found that funds were being misappropriated and immediately fired his manager. In retaliation, the manager opened his own mess business just a few shops away from Gokul.
Gokul then did a rethink on closing his business. He appointed his brother as manager and met with the deAsra team. The team visited his business and advised him to increase his customer base by introducing snacks and a mini thali to his menu. They also asked him to contact his old customers and inform them about the change in guard. They provided him with plenty of tips and best practices on hygiene, general management and administration. Being told that he didn’t have any food license, they put him in touch with their legal associate, who helped him get his FSSAI registration.
Today Gokul’s business is running well with an ever-increasing number of customers while retaining his old customers as well!
